The viral Antipolo road rage that escalated to shooting claimed one life.
ANTIPOLO ROAD RAGE – The rider involved in the shooting has died, according to Antipolo chief of police, Police Lt. Col. Ryan Manongdo.
Over the weekend, four people were shot in a road rage incident in Antipolo, Rizal. This incident was recorded, and the suspect, the driver of the SUV, is facing charges after shooting 4 people, including his own girlfriend.
Based on the videos, the incident that started from a brawl quickly escalated to shooting. The 28-year-old SUV driver took out his gun, and in broad daylight and on a public road, he fired his gun several times.
According to reports, the suspect was punched by at least 2 motorcycle riders after he was accused of driving his car dangerously close to their vehicles. The incident stemmed from a traffic dispute, and according to the investigation, the driver and his girlfriend were on their way to a resort.
The victims were a 52-year-old male who was shot in the head, putting him in critical condition; his 22-year-old son, who was shot in the arm, leaving him wounded; the suspect’s girlfriend, who got a shot in the thigh; and 29-year-old male who was shot in the chest after trying to mediate the situation.
“Ini-insist niya na self defense ‘yung ginawa niya. May kumakalat na video na agrabyado siya dun sa away kasi naka-helmet ‘yung kaaway niya tapos more than 2 ‘yung kanyang kasuntukan. Bahala na siyang mag-depensa sa prosecutor at sa court kung tatanggapin ‘yung kanyang alibi,” the police official said.
Based on an update, Antipolo City Acting Police Chief Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Manongdo shared that the suspect is facing three counts of frustrated m*rder and a case for violation of the election gun ban.
The official added that the victim, who was shot in the head, has died. This death prompted them to amend the cases filed.
