Aira Lopez Hits Back at ‘Mag-Tatay’ Comment About Her Relationship W/ Mark Leviste

Social media personality Aira Lopez isn’t one to shy away from criticism, especially when it concerns her relationship with Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste. In a recent Facebook post, Lopez responded to a netizen who made an unsolicited remark about the age gap between her and Leviste, commenting that the politician looked like her father.
Lopez and Leviste had shared a heartwarming video on March 31, where Leviste lip-synched a vow of love dedicated to Lopez. In the caption, Lopez jokingly pointed out the similarities in Leviste’s facial features to that of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. This lighthearted remark invited a series of comments from netizens, some of which touched on Leviste’s age and appearance.
One comment, however, crossed the line for Lopez, as a user suggested that the couple looked like “mag-tatay” (father and daughter). Lopez, known for her bold and unapologetic persona, responded with a witty retort, “Ikaw hindi pa kita nakikita, mukha ka ng uod.” (You, I haven’t seen you, but you already look like a worm).
Despite the online criticism, Lopez stands firm in her relationship with Leviste, who is 20 years older than her. The couple made their relationship public earlier this year, with Leviste revealing in February that they had already been together for about seven months. “From day one, we connected well. I felt the spark and I’m happy where I am right now,” Leviste shared.
Lopez addressed those who continue to scrutinize their age gap, saying, “I don’t know why, until now, age gaps in relationships are still a big problem for people. I’d rather choose a mature, smart, hardworking, and respectful partner over someone my age who lacks the ability to treat a woman well.”
