Alden Richards shared his thoughts on politics
Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards revealed that he received many offers to join politics.
Alden is one of the most popular male stars of his generation. His status in the entertainment industry is an inspiration to many younger artists.
Over the years, his career path showed how well he handled the success that he achieved. More than just an actor, Alden also ventured into the business side of the entertainment industry through his production company.
Just like many celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry, Alden Richards also received offers to run for a government position. In a recent interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, the Kapuso actor talked about the political offers he received.
“There has been offers po for me to run. But for me, at this point in my life, I respectfully decline po,” the actor revealed. Just like how he always believed, Alden stressed that there is no need for him to join politics in order to help other people.
“Lagi ko pong sinasabi even though there’s a lot of clamor for me running for politics, I can help people without being part of the government. It’s not because ayaw ko siya dahil mayroon akong mga hindi maganda about the system. It’s not about that,” he explained.
He also said that the platform that he has now is more than enough for him to help the less fortunate. Right now, the actress shared that aside from showbiz, he wants to focus on his production company, Myriad Entertainment, and his AR Foundation.
Even before the actor officially launched his foundation, he had been doing scholarship programs for college students. When asked if his decision not to enter politics is just “for now,” Alden Richards answered, “Baka po for good.”
