In 2022, he decided to enter the world of politics. He ran for senator under the tandem of the winning tandem of President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sen. Robin Padilla is known as an avid supporter of the Dutertes. After former President Rodrigo Duterte was brought to the Netherlands to face the International Criminal Court for his alleged crimes against humanity because of his controversial drug war, Sen. Robin did not hesitate to show support for the former Chief Executive.
The Senator went to the Netherlands to show support for FPRRD, together with other prominent political figures, including the Vice President.
While mingling with Pinoys and fellow supporters of the former President, Sen. Robin Padilla had a moment that went viral. In the video that circulated on social media, it can be seen that the lawmaker was mingling with Filipinos, and they were taking photos.
A woman beside him took a selfie, and it appeared that he kissed her. “Robin Padilla may kakiss sa Netherlands,” a caption of a TikTok post stated.
Another Duterte supporter shared the same video with the caption, “Nilamig sobrang si senator Robin [Padillia] hahaha.”
Just recently, a video of the Senator also went viral. It was because, during their somewhat “rally” in the Netherlands, Atty. Harry Roque introduced him as “bise presidente” and is supposed to be the running mate of Vice President Sara Duterte in the 2028 elections. The crowd cheered for Robin Padilla as he smiled before starting his speech.
