Here’s what Kitty Duterte wished for her father, FPRRD.
KITTY DUTERTE – The former presidential daughter is in The Hague, and as FPRRD turns 80, this is her wish for him.
Former president Rodrigo Duterte was arrested by the International Criminal Court due to crimes against humanity allegedly committed during his administration’s war against drugs. He is being held accountable for the lives lost during this time under his leadership.
His partner, Honeylet Avanceña, and his youngest daughter, Kitty Duterte, arrived at The Hague ahead of his birthday. However, their plans to pay him a visit in his cell were turned away. Avanceña and Veronica arrived at The Hague weeks after FPRRD was detained.
They were not allowed to enter the Scheveningen Prison, the detention center of the ICC, where Duterte is being held as they wait for his trial.
“To all the Filipino communities around Europe, around the world, thank you very much for the support for me and my family… We are grateful to you. We hope you will not stop until former president Duterte will be able to return home,” Kitty said in the interview.
In the same interview, she also wished her father good health as he turns 80 years old. She hopes that he is eating well inside the detention and that he will be more compliant. It was agreed between their family that Honeylet and Kitty would spend time with him on his birthday.
Kitty said, “Good health, and I hope he eats the food they provide there. He needs to stop being stubborn.”
Both of them have limited time. Honeylet has businesses to tend to that she cannot leave hanging for a longer time, while Kitty has classes, and she cannot be absent for longer days.
