Animal Welfare Group Rescues Cat After Surviving Brutal Attack
BACH Project PH, an animal welfare group rescued a poor cat that was brutally stabbed multiple times in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
On Wednesday (March 19, 2025), the cat, named Moymoy, was found by its owner in their home in Sunrise Village, Barangay Blumentritt. The owner was shocked to see Moymoy covered in blood and hiding under the bed.
Upon closer inspection, they discovered that the cat’s intestines were exposed due to severe stab wounds.

Without hesitation, the owner rushed Moymoy to a veterinary clinic in Bacolod City for emergency treatment. Veterinarians performed a critical operation to stitch the torn intestines and stop the bleeding.
As of Wednesday evening, Moymoy had successfully undergone surgery but remained in a critical condition, relying on oxygen support to survive.
“He underwent emergency surgery and remains in critical condition, relying on oxygen to survive,” the group wrote.

This is not the first case of animal cruelty reported in the area. Just last month, a dog was rescued after being found with arrows lodged in its body. These disturbing incidents highlight the need for stricter animal protection laws and stronger enforcement against animal cruelty.
BACH Project PH has already reported the incident to authorities in an effort to identify the person responsible for the brutal attack. The group is also seeking financial assistance for Moymoy’s medical expenses, including necessary medications and further treatments.
Animal lovers and advocates are encouraged to help in any way they can, whether by donating to support Moymoy’s recovery or by spreading awareness to prevent similar cases in the future.
Acts of cruelty like this should never go unpunished, and communities must work together to protect innocent animals from harm.
