Ara Mina decided to try again her luck in politics
Actress Ara Mina has these words about veteran comedian-host Vic Sotto as she is supporting the opponent of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto.
Vic is very supportive of his son Vico’s political career. The Eat Bulaga host joined the Pasig City Mayor in his momentous events in politics, from filing his certificate of candidacy, his winning moment, and again, his COC filing last year.
Mayor Vico filed his COC for his second term. The young politician has been receiving praise from his constituents but it’s inevitable that some people would go against him.
For the 2025 elections, Mayor Vico Sotto is facing against businesswoman Sarah Discaya. Ara Mina is one of the councilors who is under Discaya’s line-up. Previously, the actress shared that she and the aspiring mayor met during a charitable event.
Ara also shared that she asked for signs when she was offered to run for councilor. The actress already tried her luck in the political arena years ago but she did not succeed.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Ara said that Bossing Vic will not hold this against her when she is supporting Mayor Vico’s opponent.
Ara and Vic worked together in the movie Fantastic Man in 2003. The actress played the leading lady role in this film. With how she knows the veteran comedian-host, he would not have ill feelings towards her because of political differences.
“Knowing Bossing [Vic], matalinong tao [siya] hindi para magkaroon ng gan’ung problema. May kanya-kanya naman tayong preference and kanya-kanyang journey. I don’t think sasama loob ni Bossing sa gan’un,” Ara shared.
Ara Mina also admitted that she does not know Mayor Vico personally and that it was just Bossing Vic whom she had the chance to work with.
“Kumbaga wala talaga akong personal [relationship] with Mayor Vico. Si Ate Sarah [Discaya] talaga ‘yung binigay sa’kin ni Lord para pumasok sa public service,” the actress explained.
