CIDG Reveals Honeylet Avanceña was First Choice To Accompany Duterte to The Hague
HONEYLET AVANCEÑA – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) claimed that the flight was delayed because the partner of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte refused to go with him.
Following his arrest at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) as he just arrived from Hong Kong, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte stayed for several hours under the custody of the authorities. It was already late night when his flight left the Philippines to Dubai.

The partner of Duterte, Honeylet Avanceña, even tried to convince him not to go with the authorities who were arresting him. She stressed to the former President the alleged absence of a warrant of arrest.
Aside from Honeylet, their daughter, Kitty Duterte, was also by her father’s side throughout the unexpected turn of events. She tagged his detention as “illegal” saying there was allegedly no warrant of arrest against her father.

Despite the refusal of Honeylet and Kitty for former Pres. Duterte to leave for The Hague, the turn of events led to his flight to Dubai en route the Netherlands. He was accompanied by three (3) people — his assistant, his lawyer, and a nurse.

Recently, CIDG chief PMGen. Nicolas Torre III spoke on the delay of the flight that carried former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Based on a post on ABS-CBN News, the CIDG Chief said that it was because his partner, Honeylet Avanceña, refused to go with him to The Hague.

According to Gen. Torre, they had to change the manifest as the pilot refused to push through with the flight without changing the name of Honeylet Avanceña with the name of former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea who accompanied Duterte.
“Ang first choice namin ‘dun si Honeylet. Eh, ayaw sumama so pili kami ng isang abogado. Ang nag-volunteer si ES Medialdea. Kaya na-delay nang na delay pa ‘yun kasi nga nagpalit pa ng manifest,” the CIDG Chief said.
Recently, the Supreme Court rejected the appeal of Sen. Bato dela Rosa for an immediate TRO against the government’s further cooperation with the ICC. The ICC welcomed the arrest and transfer of Duterte.
