John Lapus reposted a news report about Duterte
Comedian-director John Lapus shared this prayer after former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested based on the warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
John is a known critic of Duterte and his allies. The comedian-director is not afraid of speaking his mind when it comes to political and social issues. In the past, John has directly criticized political figures.
He is known as one of the celebrity supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo. John campaigned for the ex-VP when she ran for president in the 2022 elections with her running mate former Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
After FPRRD was arrested, polarizing comments were shared online. Duterte supporters were quick to criticize the arrest and how it was done. Supporters of the former President highlighted what they had experienced during his presidency.
However, for his critics, his arrest was a piece of good news. For them, it was just right that Duterte was arrested because of his supposed crimes when he started the war on drugs, just like what Kapamilya actor Jake Ejercito shared in a recent Facebook post.
Jake shared an art card of Kian Delos Santos who was killed during a police operation against drug dealers.
In a social media post after the arrest, John Lapus also shared his thoughts on this issue. He shared a post featuring a news article about Duterte’s arrest. The comedian-director shared his prayer in the caption of his post.
“I pray na makulong,” John wrote and included a praying emoji. Netizens who commented on this post echoed his sentiments as they were also praying for Duterte’s imprisonment. “Yes. We are praying na makulong na ang mga dapat makulong,” a netizen commented on the comedian’s post.
