Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Arrives from Hong Kong

RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President was asked upon his arrival from Hong Kong about his looming arrest over an alleged warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The war on drugs of the Duterte administration remains controversial. Thousands of deaths were linked to the most popular campaign of the previous administration. It gained divided reactions from the public.

On the other side of people who are praising the drug war of the previous administration, many human rights advocate groups and individuals have expressed opposition to how the war on drugs was allegedly carried out. The government worked hand in hand with the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The International Criminal Court or ICC is one of the entities that have expressed intent to investigate the war on drugs of the administration of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Previously, Duterte expressed not being impressed by the ICC saying it has not sent anyone to jail.

During a House Quad Committee hearing at the House of Representatives, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte invited the ICC to come to the Philippines and investigate him. His remark was a surprise to many people.

Recently, there were rumors that the International Criminal Court has released a warrant of arrest against former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The former Chief Executive recently went to Hong Kong for the thanksgiving event of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Today, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte arrived in the Philippines from Hong Kong. Based on a post of ABS-CBN News, the former Chief Executive was asked regarding his looming arrest before his disembarked from the plane.

“You will just have to kill me… hindi ako papayag kung kakampi d’yan sa mga puti…” the former President said.

Previously, MalacaƱang said that the PH government is “obliged to follow” in case the Interpol needs necessary assistance once the ICC has indeed issued a warrant of arrest against the former President.
