Kitty Duterte Reacts to Former President Duterte’s Arrest: “Illegal detention, no warrant of arrest.”
Kitty Duterte reacted to the arrest of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, saying, “Illegal detention, no warrant of arrest.”
On Tuesday (March 11, 2025), Veronica ‘Kitty’ Duterte posted an Instagram story featuring a photo of her father, expressing her concern over what she called illegal detention without a warrant of arrest.
The former president’s daughter also shared videos of her father questioning the arrest. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.

Recently, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed that INTERPOL Manila received the official copy of the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against Duterte.
The former president is under investigation by the ICC for his administration’s controversial war on drugs.
Over the weekend, rumors about an ICC arrest warrant for Duterte spread across social media. The former president had just traveled to Hong Kong for a thanksgiving event organized by the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC).

The event was reportedly part of the PDP-Laban campaign rallies, but Hong Kong authorities prohibited public assembly for election campaigns. Vice President Sara Duterte also attended the event.
During the event, Duterte addressed the rumors, stating that the ICC had been after him for a long time. He defended his actions as necessary to maintain peace and security in the country
Shortly after returning from Hong Kong, reports surfaced that Duterte had been served with an arrest warrant. The PCO later confirmed that the PNP executed the ICC-issued warrant upon his arrival.
According to an official statement from the PCO, police officers who served the warrant ensured Duterte and his group underwent medical checks to confirm their safety. The officers also used body cameras while carrying out the procedure.
