Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte Insists Actions as President Done To Ensure Peace
RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE – The former President reacted to the rumored arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The Duterte administration is most popular for its war on drugs campaign. It has elicited different reactions from the public. Some Filipinos support the anti-drugs campaign while there are also Pinoys who are against the alleged implementation of the campaign.

The war on drugs of the Duterte admin is surrounded by a lot of issues and it is linked to the deaths of thousands of Filipinos. Several entities have lodged investigations. One of them is the International Criminal Court or more popularly called ICC.
Previously, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte told the ICC to hurry up in their investigation as he might die without them having investigated him. At the House Quad Committee hearing over his war on drugs, the former Chief Executive admitted that he is not impressed by the capabilities of the ICC.

Duterte even said that the ICC has not imprisoned anyone that it has investigated. Senator Bato dela Rosa who was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the previous administration said that the former President just laughed at the ICC probe.

Recently, rumors that the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte crossed the surface. Based on a report on GMA News, the former President reacted to the rumors.
“Sa totoo lang ang balita ko may warrant daw ako sa ICC or something. Matagal na akong hinahabol,” he said.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte stressed that his actions as president were in line with his goal for peace and order in the Philippines. Based on the report, the former President raised an assumption that the accusations against him are true. According to him, he did it for the Filipinos and the country.
“Assuming na totoo talaga yung nairiring niyong ginawa ko. Para sa inyo at inyong mga anak sa ating bayan,” the former President said.
Previously, after the former President dared the ICC to start the investigation, Pres. Bongbong Marcos said that the government will not stop the ICC probe on the drug war.
