Actress-television host Denise Laurel shared how she started hosting fan meets of Korean celebrities.
Denise has been in the industry for quite a long time already. She was a teen star and eventually evolved into a more serious actress.
Previously, Denise shared that getting pregnant during the height of her career did not bother her that much. She said that she was not really a leading lady material and she did not have that image to maintain.

For her, she is more of a character actress. Over the years, she has proven that she can do various roles, which showed her versatility. With her past roles, she would receive “mataray” and “malandi” comments.
Aside from acting, Denise Laurel is also a good host. Based on a recent article in The Philippine Star, the actress shared how she became a host in fan meets of Korean celebrities.
Denise admitted that she is a big fan of K-pop. She would go to K-pop events during the time when it was just starting to be a thing around Asia. She became busy and had the chance to watch television and music again during the pandemic.
When the situation got better, she volunteered to be a host in this kind of event. “Noong end ng pandemic, when people were going out already, just for fun, ‘Hey, do you, guys, need a host? It’s a hobby for me, like you don’t have to sweat it. Don’t even pay. It’s for fun. I just wanna have fun.’ I know I can do it because I used to do music concerts back in the day,” she shared.

From that, she was able to host fan meets of many Korean stars and had the chance to interact with them. She shared that among the Korean stars she was most StarStruck to actor Cha Eun-Woo from the K-pop group ASTRO.
“Mas gwapo pa siya in person than how you see him on TV. And he’s very kind. Very professional. May pinagdadaanan siya noong time na iyon, but he was still powered through with his work and he delivered,” Denise Laurel shared.
Through this stint, Denise is also able to meet and talk to her fellow fangirls. She is dedicated to this job because for her, she is a Philippine representative and foreigners would have that impression that Filipinos are fun to work with and very professional.
