Barbie Forteza talked about the loveteam culture in the Philippines
Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza shared her thoughts on why Filipino audience supports loveteams.
Barbie is just among the many female celebrities who are part of the loveteam culture in the Philippine entertainment industry. Currently, she is being paired with Kapuso actor David Licauco. Their tandem is called BarDa.
Their onscreen partnership started in the Kapuso series Maria Clara at Ibarra. Then, this continued in Pulang Araw and was followed with other projects.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Barbie was asked what she thinks loveteams in Philippine showbiz are a big hit.
“Siguro kasi we give them the satisfaction of the kilig feeling, di ba ‘yung mga first love… Ang sarap kiligin, lahat ng tao na in love, nai-in love,” the Kapuso actress said.
She added that loveteams are very relatable, reflect many people’s experiences in love, such as the first time of falling in love until the first heartbreak.
For David Licauco, loveteams are a form of escape for many people. “‘Yung iba nagsasabi meron daw silang anxiety and because of us na nakakatulong tayo sa kanila kaya I’m super grateful na may love team,” the actor said.
Just recently, Barbie Forteza guested on Ivana Alawi’s YouTube vlog in which she talked about her passion in acting. She said that she really loves acting since she was a young girl. Barbie wanted to work with people she admired.
She is happy that right now, the people she admires would recognize her projects and acting performances. When asked about how she started her love for acting, Barbie Forteza said, “Nung medyo nawiwili ako manood ng TV, parang gusto ko rin pumasok sa TV. Tapos ‘pag ako lang mag-isa, nagpa-practice ako umiyak sa salamin.”
She also shared that drama is her favorite genre and even though it is tiring to do several sequences, it gives a fulfilling feeling to her.
