However, based on a report on Philippine Star, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero clarified that the proposed schedule for the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is “not set in stone”. According to the Senate Leader, it still needs the approval of the lawmakers in the upper chamber.

Escudero said that the proposed timeline was for the senators to study the proposed schedule. According to him, they will act on the matter when the Senate session resumes.

“This just serves as a suggested schedule from the Senate’s legal team, sent to all senators as their advance notice for them to study. We will act on it when we resume the session,” he said.

Based on the report, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero also refused to act on the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte with urgency. He stressed that they have long approved their legislative calendar.

“So why should we change that just because of an impeachment complaint?” the Senate President said.

Recently, Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte spoke on the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. He is confident that his sister will win the impeachment battle.
