An SUV with a sticker from the Office of the President was involved in an accident on Taft Avenue in Manila.

On early Wednesday morning (February 26, 2025), a vehicle crashed into a post on Taft Avenue, also dragging a motorcycle into the incident.

“Nag-radio sa amin na meron nga raw aksidente ditong nangyari. Sumalpok yata siya dito sa poste,” MDRRMO operation supervisor John Tecson said.

The motorcycle, which got caught in the crash, also suffered heavy damage at the front.

According to officials, the SUV was driven by a Chinese national who lost control of the vehicle before hitting the post. The motorcycle rider, who was nearby, was caught in the accident and sustained injuries.

Responders provided first aid before rushing the rider to the hospital for further treatment. The SUV driver also suffered minor wounds, including scratches on his arm.

Authorities suspect that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, though further investigation is still ongoing. It took about 30 minutes to clear the road of debris, shattered glass, and oil spills.

The authorities noticed a sticker of the Office of the President displayed on the SUV. Officials are now verifying whether the sticker is legitimate. Meanwhile, the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit has taken custody of the driver for further questioning.

When asked about the incident, the driver simply responded with repeated apologies. As of now, the Office of the President has not released any statement regarding the crash.
