“Okay na ‘to” became the viral line of Mommy Grace Tanfelix and here’s what we know about her.
MOMMY GRACE TANFELIX – Meet the mother of actor Miguel Tanfelix, the cook and rising social-media star behind the viral “Okay Na ‘To” line.
“Okay na ‘to” is the trademark of Mommy Grace Tanfelix which she always quips at the end of her cooking videos. With several of the videos she made, people got familiar with it already, and with over two million followers on Facebook, people started to incorporate the short but sweet line in their witty skits.
Who is Mommy Grace?
Aside from being well-loved as a cook whose content always includes cooking for large groups of people, she is the mother of Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix. Sometimes, she features her son in her videos.
According to Miguel, she cooks large meals for the people who renovate her kitchen. He shared, “Una, kasi ni-re-renovate po ‘yung kitchen niya, so marami siyang magluto para pakainin na rin ‘yung gumagawa ng kitchen.”
Also, their family lives in one compound and so, they share food together. The meals she cooks last from lunchtime to dinnertime. If there’s one thing his mom cooks that he really loves, it would have to be her leche flan.
Mommy Grace was born on June 17, 1967, and is married to Gary Tanfelix. They have two sons namely Miguel and Yuan and it was her eldest who played a big role in her content-creating career. He is her support behind the scenes and in front of the camera. As she had put it, Yuan is her “driver, editor, videographer, admin, secretary—lahat na!”
Before her career in video blogging, she was a preschool teacher. She only decided to step away from teaching when her son Miguel entered showbiz at a young age. Mommy Grace focused on her family and part of her being a hands-on mother, she accompanied Miguel to his tapings, guiding him, and being there as his solid support system.
When Miguel became independent, she found a passion for cooking, and her joining content creation was unplanned.
“One time, nagluluto ako. Sabi ko, i-video ko kaya ito. Then, pinost ko sa TikTok. Nagustuhan naman ng viewers and then, more pa raw. Nagsunod-sunod na,” she told GMA News. Her viewers loved her no-fuss cooking style and making everything real, she uses pots, pans, and cooking utensils in her videos which is telling of the reality of this setup in Filipino household.
