Vatican Says Pope Francis Received the Eucharist, Did Some Work

POPE FRANCIS UPDATE – In a recently-released statement, the Vatican said that the condition of the Roman Pontiff showed ‘slight improvement’.

For over 10 days now, the Pope is confined in Gemelli hospital in Rome and Roman Catholic leaders and members continue to pray for him as he fights for his life. Last February 14, the Roman Pontiff experienced chest pains and breathing difficulties so he was brought to the hospital.

Pope Francis developed double pneumonia from his bronchitis. He is currently confined in a special papal suite in Gemelli hospital and recently had a respiratory attack last Saturday.

The attack left the Pope in a critical condition. It even urged the transfusion of two (2) units of blood. Prior to the attack, the public was already hopeful that the Pope’s condition will continue to get better as he showed improvements on the 7th day of his hospital confinement.

Then, the doctors of Pope Francis stressed that he is not out of danger although his clinical condition showed ‘slight improvements’. Prior to it, the Pope expressed to two (2) people close to him that he might “not make it this time”.

Preparations for the wake and burial of the Pope have been started amid his health condition. The Swiss Guard which is in charge of the security of the Roman Pontiff is also under a curfew over his possible demise.

On Monday afternoon, an update from Vatican that the people has slept and rested crossed the surface. The outpour of prayers for his recovery continued.

Recently, the Vatican released an update about the condition of Pope Francis who remains confined in Gemellie hospital now. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Vatican said that “the critical clinical conditions of the Holy Father demonstrate a slight improvement”.

The 88-year-old Roman Pontiff had no episodes of asthmatic respiratory attacks as of Monday evening and “some laboratory tests have improved”. Based on the report, the Pope has received the Eucharist on Monday morning and had worked in the afternoon.

Furthermore, the Pope continues to receive oxygen but “with slightly reduced flows and percentage of oxygen” as per Vatican. However, the doctors still refuse to give a prognosis on the condition of the Supreme Pontiff due to the complex clinical picture.
