Abducted Student from School Returns Home w/ Missing Finger

An abducted student from a high-end private school in BGC has returned to his family but has lost a finger.

A 14-year-old Malaysian-Chinese student from a prestigious private school in Bonifacio Global City, British School Manila, was reportedly abducted but has now been reunited with his family. However, he returned with one of his fingers missing.

According to sources, the boy, identified as Andy Wan, was allegedly taken by his own driver and brought to Bulacan. The kidnappers then demanded a staggering $20 million ransom from his parents. It remains unclear whether the ransom was actually paid.

According to the reports, the Filipino-Chinese community confirm that Andy has returned home. However, disturbing photos shared on social media forums indicate that he suffered the loss of a finger during the abduction, raising concerns about the brutality of the suspects.

British School Manila addressed the situation in a letter sent to parents. The school’s head, Martin Van Der Linde, assured families that they are prioritizing student safety and well-being. He also emphasized that the school’s counseling team is available to provide emotional support to students, including the victim.

Meanwhile, concerns have been raised regarding the similarities between this abduction and previous kidnapping cases in Hong Kong. Reports suggest that in situations where ransom payments lead to a successful rescue, underground groups often facilitate negotiations and ensure the hostage’s release after payment is made.

“In cases like this where the hostages are successfully rescued after paying the ransom, there are generally powerful underground society bosses as communication channels for both parties, and guarantees that the hostages will be released after the ransom is paid,” the report states.

Authorities have yet to provide further updates on the incident.
