Oil Price Hike Expected on Tuesday (February 25, 2025), Gas Stations Announced
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several gas stations are set to implement an oil price hike on Tuesday (February 25, 2025).
Starting Tuesday, gasoline, diesel, and kerosene prices will see an increase for the second consecutive week due to global market trends and supply issues.
Several fuel companies, including Shell, Seaoil, Cleanfuel, and Petro Gazz, have confirmed the price adjustments. Gasoline prices will go up by P0.70 per liter, diesel by P0.40 per liter, and kerosene by P0.20 per liter.
Most fuel stations will implement the price hike at 6 a.m., while Cleanfuel will adjust prices at 4:01 p.m. on the same day. Other oil companies are expected to announce similar increases.
Industry experts have pointed to multiple global factors contributing to the price adjustments. These include ongoing supply disruptions, US sanctions on Russian and Iranian oil, and fluctuations in crude oil production by OPEC+ countries.
Additionally, geopolitical uncertainties, refinery maintenance schedules, and shifting fuel demand in Asia are influencing market prices. The Asian gasoline market has remained strong due to limited exports from China and increased demand in the region.
Meanwhile, diesel consumption is expected to increase with the upcoming Ramadan season, while the kerosene market remains firm due to domestic demand in countries like India.
The Department of Energy had earlier projected mixed price movements in petroleum products despite the expected increase. Diesel and kerosene saw slight decreases in the past week, but added costs such as freight and premium rates have offset these reductions.
Consumers are advised to plan their expenses as fuel prices continuing to fluctuate. The latest adjustments add to the year-to-date net increases of P2.65 per liter for gasoline and P4.80 per liter for both diesel and kerosene.
