Carlos Agassi revealed why The Hunks disbanded
Actor Carlos Agassi had this answer when asked if he envies other members of their defunct boy band The Hunks.
The all-male group started in the Kapamilya Sunday musical variety show ASAP during the early 2000s. The Hunks was composed of Carlos, Diether Ocampo, Bernard Palanca, Jericho Rosales, and Piolo Pascual. Prior to the group’s birth, each member already had their respective solo careers.
They were given parts in ASAP for their group performance. However, the group did not last long. In a recent video that Carlos shared on his Instagram page, he revealed why The Hunks disbanded.

Carlos Agassi revealed that other members wanted a solo career and pursue other projects outside the group.
“Guys, kaya nga nabuwag kasi gusto ng kanya-kanyang career nu’ng iba. Kasi, ‘pag group, pantay-pantay kami sa lahat, eh – sa exposure, sa TF (talent fee), sa career,” he said, adding that in order for other members to be higher, their group came to an end.

He also shared that there is no communication between him and other The Hunks members, even during the time when he got injured in 2020 after an accident, no one reached out to him.
However, Carlos stressed that he was not angry with them. On the other hand, he said that one of The Hunks members had a concert in the US, and he was contacted to be a guest and he did that for free but when he invited other members to appear in his Milk Tea music video, they just “seen” his message.
Carlos also shared that he felt like others did not want him to return to showbiz as for him, they see him as a competition. “‘Di ba, kumbaga, magkakakumpetensiya kami. Ayaw nilang makabalik ako. So, tama kayo, mali ako. Walang hatred, that’s love,” the actor said.
In another video, Carlos Agassi answered the question if he feels envious of other members. He said that he is happy for them. “Sobrang natutuwa ako for them. Kanya-kanya tayo ng path. Let’s not compare ourselves to others. Ang buhay, 99% reactions sa ginawa sa ‘tin,” he stressed.
The actor also shared that when he received a massive amount of bashing because of his song Milk Tea, this really affected his mental health. He was really emotional at that time.
