Tricycle Driver Runs Over Police Officer at Comelec Checkpoint While Trying to Escape
A tricycle driver was arrested after running over a police officer at a Comelec checkpoint in San Marcelino, Zambales.

The police officer sustained a sprain from the incident and received immediate medical attention. Authorities identified the tricycle driver and quickly took him into custody after the dangerous encounter.
The Police Regional Office III, led by Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, condemned the driver’s actions, calling it a threat to peace and order. The officer emphasized that incidents like these are unacceptable, especially during heightened security measures like Comelec checkpoints.
These checkpoints are not only in place to enforce the gun ban during election season but also to monitor and apprehend wanted individuals or those involved in illegal activities.
The tricycle driver now faces charges for his actions, and authorities are determined to ensure accountability.
