Female Customer Reminds Everyone to Always Check Their Receipts After Cashier’s Mistake
A female customer shared her experience at a grocery store where the cashier reportedly made an error while scanning her purchased items.
Recently, April Montrae De Roxas-Elento, a Facebook user, recounted how a cashier accidentally overcharged her for an item. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
While shopping, she was surprised to see her total bill reach over P4,900. She proceeded with her payment using a credit card but felt something was off. As she transferred her groceries, she glanced at the receipt and noticed that a strawberry-flavored wine had been scanned 24 times instead of just once. This resulted in an excess charge of P2,700.

Elento calmly pointed out the error to the cashier, who, along with a colleague, looked visibly worried. Instead of getting upset, she chose to stay patient. She stood aside and allowed them to finish assisting the other customers before they sought help from their senior staff.
The situation took a little longer to resolve since the excess charge was made via credit card, which could not be voided immediately. The store initially considered refunding her in cash. However, she decided to wait for further instructions from the management.
April reflected on how she would have reacted differently in the past, getting frustrated and angry over the mistake. However, with experience and maturity, she has learned to handle situations with more patience and understanding.

As a frontliner herself, she recognized that everyone makes mistakes, including cashiers who deal with countless transactions daily.
The female customer advises the public to always check the receipt and the cashier’s monitor to ensure accuracy. She choose kindness and patience in such situations to resolve issues smoothly without tension.

Kuya, kaya pala anlaki..subra napunch mo.
ayowwwnnn problemado ung dalwang kahera.
My old self(magagalit at magwawadang naku nito)
In this kind of situation, dati magwawasang ako at gang sa makauwe ay high blood ako.
Godbless us mga kasari.”
