Maris and Anthony went through a tough time by the start of 2025. It is because of their leaked intimate conversations on social media. The MaThon received a massive amount of bashing online.
Because of this, they took a break for a while. Their first public appearance together after the controversy was during the press conference for the Kapamilya series Incognito in which they were both cast members.
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz said that Maris and Anthony will be able to have their redemption after the controversy. Apparently, the MaThon loveteam is bouncing back.
Just recently, Netflix released the official trailer of the first MaThon movie titled Sosyal Climber. The trailer showed that Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings portrayed a couple and they were entangled into a pretentious life among the rich people.
They had to take fake identities in order to get the money they needed. “True love, fake lives,” the trailer stated. The romantic comedy film is set to be released on February 27.
In Netflix’s Instagram post featuring this movie trailer, Maris and Anthony received praise from netizens. “I only see 2 great actors. Nothing personal. Period,” Instagram user @marygracetecson commented while Instagram user @jesahrose said, “Them, committed a mistake only means they’re also human. But their acting and chemistry is undeniable!”
Meanwhile, during the Incognito grand press conference, fans of Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings noticed the sweetness between them. However, a rumor surfaced that it was just for show and Maris was allegedly just pretending to be okay with Anthony. Allegedly, the actress was still pissed off with her loveteam partner after the controversy.
