Morissette Amon reconnected with her family after five years
Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon revealed how she and her family reconciled after having no communication with each other for five years.
Back in 2019, reports surfaced that Morissette started to have a conflict with her parents. The online community talked about this for a while. Morissette tied the knot with her husband Dave Lamar in 2021 and the absence of the singer’s parents was noticeable.
In July last year, Morissette shared a post featuring her family photo. It showed that she and her parents reconciled and this made her fans so happy.
In a recent interview on Kuan On One, the Bisaya YouTube talk show hosted by Kapamilya comedian Melai Cantiverost, Morissette Amon shared how the reconciliation happened.
She admitted that the issue with her family was hard to bear. The singer said that she could handle other issues but it was really difficult for her to deal with if her loved ones were involved.
Morissette even said that her conflict with her family was a hard battle because she was used to having her family by her side and they were her source of strength for the longest time.
“For the longest time, sila ang aking strength tapos umabot sa point na hindi ko na sila kausap, hindi kami magkasama that time. Five years kaming hindi nag-uusap,” she shared. That period allowed them to heal. Morissette also shared that one good thing that happened in the five years was that her parent’s focus was on her sibling because before the conflict happened, her parents’ attention was mainly on her.
The singer said that even before the reconciliation, she and her parents had healed already but there was just “kahiyaan.” Her fans had a big role in their reconciliation. In June last year, she had a fan gathering and many of her supporters have become family friends.
 “Kasi meron akong mga fans na naging family friend na rin. And meron akong get-together nung June (2024) na of course get together with the fans and hindi ko alam na meron pala silang surprise na ni-lead ako sa isang kwarto na nandun pala ang kapatid ko at ang wife niya, kasama ang aking mom. Super blessed and super grateful ako sa aking mga fans and of course kay Lord,” the singer shared.
Morissette Amon said that the five years of being apart from her parents gave them time to grow.
