“Wil To Win” host Willie Revillame will be temporarily replaced by Randy Santiago.
TV host Willie Revillame will run for senator in the 2025 midterm elections and Randy Santiago is his replacement in his show.
Last year, famous TV host Willie Revillame finally crossed the bridge of hesitation and fully embraced the call to run for a public post. He is eyeing a seat in the Senate and Willie filed his certificate of candidacy to run for senator in the 2025 election.
“Nakikita ko awayan ng awayan, mga edukado… hindi ako abogado, hindi ako nakatapos… pero marami nang batas ang ginawa, marami nang naging president. Pero ano ba ang nagawa, nabago ba buhay ba natin,” Revillame said.
If he secures a seat in the Senate, he vowed to increase the mandatory discount for senior citizens and persons with disabilities and provide free education for the people.
He will run as an independent candidate.
Adhering to the rules of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), he can continue to appear in his show. After this date, he will focus on his campaign and since TV5 did not allow Wil To Win to halt airing because of his political endeavors, he will have a substitute.
Recently, during a live telecast, he introduced Randy Santiago, a good friend of his, to temporarily take his place as host. They have been friends since the ’80s and Santiago was also the one who discovered him Lunch Date.
They used to work alongside in a band with Revillame as the drummer and Santiago on the vocals.
“Alam ninyo, nagkasama kami, OFW kami sa Singapore. Ako ang drummer niya, magkatabi kami sa kuwarto. Lahat ng damit niya, yun ang ginagamit ko. Yung akin, hindi ko ginagamit,” the Wil To Win original host shared.
Santiago will be working with Revillame’s co-hosts namely Camille Canlas, Fatima Bisan, and Almira Teng. This situation will probably last for four to five months.
