GLORIA ROMERO DEATH – The legendary actress died at the age of 91 and Jose Javier Reyes or Joey Reyes has this statement.
The career of legendary actress and Queen of Philippine Cinema, Gloria Romero spanned for decades. Romero died on January 25, 2025, at the age of 91 and the cause of her death was not revealed.

Romero’s wake will be held at Arlington Memorial Chapel, Hall A, on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City. A public viewing was also scheduled. The late actress’ fans and supporters can pay their respects on Monday and Tuesday between 9 AM and 1 PM.
Celebrities paid tribute to the Queen of Philippine Cinema and recently, the current chairman and CEO of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Jose Javier Reyes, more known as Joey Reyes, spoke about this great loss in the entertainment industry.
According to him, he did three films with her and worked with her on several projects as a writer. He wrote the teleplay for the sitcom “Palibhasa Lalake” and she was in disbelief over the “lasengga” role given to her. Eventually, this role of Romero became a primetime household fixture and he admired her for owning it.
About her death, he was sad and glad, in a way. He explained, “I’m sad ‘cause she is no longer with us. But she has left a big body of work. And more than the body of work, the life she has lived. As an example of what is it to be not just a professional but a good human being, which seems to be lacking nowadays in the new generation.”
She was still the same Gloria Romero the last time they interacted and to him, apart from her talent, she was outstanding because of her humility and concern for the people.
“They don’t make stars like her anymore,” said Reyes based on a report from ABS-CBN.
