According to Col. Felipe Maraggun, Rizal police provincial director, the man, identified only as Marvin, held his daughter, Lady Natalie, at knifepoint using a karambit knife. Based on a report from Inquirer, the alarming incident reportedly stemmed from Marvin’s apparent panic upon seeing barangay officials approaching his house. The officials were responding to a complaint filed by Marvin’s wife, accusing him of raping his stepdaughter.
The shocking scene drew the attention of Taytay Mayor Allan Martine De Leon, who, alongside Col. Maraggun, took charge of negotiating for the child’s safe release. Their efforts paid off after an hour of tense discussions, and Marvin eventually released his daughter unharmed.
Authorities promptly arrested Marvin following the incident. He now faces multiple charges, including serious illegal detention, alarm and scandal, and illegal possession of a deadly weapon.
