Police Authorities Arrest Wanted Man During Date w/ Police Asset
A man who had been wanted for a decade for a pending case in San Juan, Batangas, was finally arrested in Pasig City.
A police asset is an individual who works with the police by providing information, assistance, or performing specific tasks, often in a covert or undercover capacity. These individuals are usually not official police officers but are trusted by law enforcement for their cooperation.
Recently, the police authorities arrest a man with a pending case in Pasig City. The arrest was made after the suspect unknowingly went on a date with a female police asset. The case involved the suspect’s 14-year-old niece, who was the victim of the crime years ago.
Once the suspect discovered that a rape case had been filed against him, he immediately fled and managed to evade authorities for years. He moved between different locations, including Antipolo, Cainta, and Manila.
According to investigators, the suspect had been difficult to track because his family had been supporting him despite the crime he committed. However, the police gathered intelligence that revealed the suspect was a frequent partygoer and often spent his nights in bars.
Recently, the suspect was reportedly involved in a physical altercation at a bar in Antipolo. He chose not to press charges, likely to avoid exposing his outstanding warrant of arrest.
Using information from a confidential informant, authorities pinpointed his whereabouts. To capture him, a female police asset engaged with him through social media, gaining his trust. They arranged to meet in Pasig City, where officers successfully carried out the operation and arrested him.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Manila Police District as they await the court’s commitment order. Despite the charges against him, he has refused to give any statement regarding his arrest.
The operation ends a decade-long effort by the authorities to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.
