Vico Sotto Asked About The Case Of Vic Sotto and Darryl Yap

Here’s what Vico Sotto regarding the case of his father Vic Sotto.

Host-actor Vic Sotto filed a complaint against Darryl Yap and Mayor Vico Sotto has this comment when asked about the case.

19 counts of cyber libel complaints was filed by Vic Sotto against Darryl Yap after the teaser of his Pepsi Paloma film mentioned the actor’s name in a controversial way.

The case seeks a total damage of Php 35 million where Php 20 million of which is for the moral damages as “physical suffering, mental anguish, fright, serious anxiety, besmirched reputation, wounded feelings, moral shock, social humiliation, or similar harm” were inflicted.

Both Yap and Sotto are under a gag order as petitioned by the director to keep matters about the pending case kept away from the public’s knowledge. The gag order issued by Muntinlupa RTC Branch 205 Presiding Judge Liezl Acquiatan covered both parties prohibiting them to disclose or discuss the proceedings and merits of the case.

The court issued the order upon the urgent motion filed by the camp of Yap last January 10.

Recently, amid the buzz of the case, Sotto’s son, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, was asked about it. He was asked about the speculations of the public about the film as an attack directed on him.

With respect, he responded well by refusing to give any comments. According to him, he is not on the right places to make any comments but this doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his own opinion.

He explained that he just feels like what he knows about the material and case are still lacking. Moreover, they don’t talk about it, hence, the need not to comment. He said, “Hindi namin siya napag-usapan, so baka hindi ako dapat mag-comment.”
