Pauleen Luna Receives Threats Because Of Pepsi Paloma Teaser

This is how Pauleen Luna was affected by the issue.

Kapuso actress-host Pauleen Luna receives threats because of the teaser of the Pepsi Paloma movie directed by Darryl Yap.

Veteran actor and television host Vic Sotto has filed 19 counts of cyber libel against the Pepsi Paloma director Darryl Yap. This is following the controversial teaser of the upcoming film that mentioned his name.

The complaint includes a prayer for moral damages worth Php 20 million and exemplary damages worth Php 15 million. This is Sotto’s reaction to the teaser, which created a loud buzz online after it was released.

Paloma’s tale is a legacy of tragedy and controversy. She made headlines in 1982 after alleging that comedians Sotto, Joey De Leon, and Richie D’Horsie supposedly made her take an illegal substance and violated her. Paloma was found lifeless inside her apartment in 1985.

After the filing, Yap’s camp sought a gag order againstĀ Sotto. This order prevents the parties and their lawyers from speaking about the pending case in any manner.

How did it affect the family of Sotto?

In a previous article, Tali was bullied because of the teaser. This is according to Atty. Buko dela Cruz. As for his wife Pauleen Luna, she was receiving “r4pe threats” triggered by the teaser.

The attorney explained, “Sa mga comments, kung babasahin mo yung mga comments dun sa mga posts, nati-trigger ito dahil sa teaser video na inilabas. Whatever good intentions you might have, the effect is already there.”

His family was also affected because of the controversial teaser.

As of this writing, the Muntinlupa RTC Branch 205 has only ordered theĀ issuance of a Writ of Habeas Data. There is no order from the court to take down the trailer yet but Sotto has petitioned this in court already.
