Amid Viral Pepsi Paloma Movie Teaser, Vic Sotto Files Case vs. Director Darryl Yap
VIC SOTTO – The Eat Bulaga host filed charges against Pepsi Paloma movie director Darryl Yap following the release of the teaser.
Recently, the Pepsi Paloma issue once again resurfaced following the release of the teaser of a film directed by controversial filmmaker Darryl Yap. It highlighted an accusation against Vic.
Countless people asked for the reaction of Vic Sotto on the Pepsi Paloma film directed by Darryl Yap – he filed a case against the director. The Eat Bulaga host filed charged against Yap at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) on January 9. He was with his wife, Pauleen Luna-Sotto.
According to Vic, his move is not something personal but it is his reaction to the teaser of the Pepsi Paloma movie. He stressed that he is does not support the spread of false information.
Based on a report on Inquirer, Vic Sotto is suing Darryl Yap over the Pepsi Paloma movie teaser for P35 million on 19 counts of cyberlibel. He is asking P20 million for moral damages and P15 million for exemplary damages. The Eat Bulaga host accused Yap of “defamatory imputations”.
Based on the report, the movie was posted in the Facebook page of Yap with over one (1) million followers and on his film company Vincentiments with more than 2.6 million followers.
Darryl Yap claimed that his materials are allegedly all based on the documentations in the 1980s which were published and publicized. He believes that he did not fall short and asked that the film must be viewed first.
Amid the issue with Vic Sotto, Darryl Yap thanked his legal counsel. He also plans to hold a press conference over the case filed against him.
