This year, Coco did not intend to have an entry. In an interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, the Batang Quiapo actor shared the reason behind this. His movie during the holiday season was one of the most anticipated films but last year, he chose not to join the film festival.

He said that this is because of his fear and this came from the fact that he also works behind the scenes in his projects. He is also the director of his Kapamilya primetime series and contributes to the creative aspects. This goes the same when he does movies.

Bakit ako natatakot? Kasi ‘pag gumagawa ako ng pelikula, ako nagpro-produce! Nakakatakot kasi ang daming magagandang pelikula,” Coco Martin said. The last MMFF movie that he did was in 2022. It was the movie Love You With An Accent with award-winning actress Jodi Sta Maria.

Meanwhile, Coco was very supportive of his partner Julia Montes’s MMFF movie Topakk with actor-politician Arjo Atayde. In one of the screenings, Coco surprised many CocoJul fans when he called Julia “Nanay” to give a bouquet of flowers to her. The couple has been more showy of their affection for each other these recent months.
