Carlo Aquino is challenged by this role in an upcoming series
Kapamilya actor Carlo Aquino revealed that he felt “takot” to portray his character in the upcoming series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.
The said series is an adaptation of the Korean hit series with the same title. This became a hit in the Philippines and one of the most loved K-drama series of Pinoy fans.
When ABS-CBN secured the franchise to create the Pinoy version of the series, Carlo was chosen as one of the lead stars with Joshua Garcia and Anne Curtis.

In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN, Carlo Aquino admitted that he feared for this role because of the pressure.
It is because of how big the original series and how people loved the characters. “Ayaw ko kasing gawin dahil takot na takot ako dun sa Its Okay to Not Be Okay dahil alam ko ‘yung fans ng series na ‘to eh sobrang wild ‘yung kagustuhan nila, tapos nanalo pa nga ‘yung actor na nag-play [sa role ko] so dagdag [pressure] naman ‘yun, eh ayaw ko na nga ng pressure,” the actor said.
He plays the role of Matmat. In the original series, the role was played by Oh Jung-se as Moon Sang-tae who is autistic, an aspiring illustrator, and a fan of Ko Moon-young (Seo Yea-ji).

Carlo shared that ABS-CBN executive Cory Vidanes encouraged him to accept this project and his handlers also told him to go for it. With the encouragement he received, he said that it might be the time to accept a difficult role to tell himself that despite it being hard, he faced his fears.
He also admitted that in the past, he tried to avoid this kind of role. “Takot na takot ako pero gagawin ko ‘to ng takot,” he added.
Carlo Aquino also shared that he is happy about this project because of the amount of heart and passion the whole team gave for this. With this, he also gave his best.
