Sara Duterte may be Faced with 4th Impeachment Complaint, House Secretary General Confirms

House Secretary General Speaks on VP Sara Duterte Impeachment Complaints

SARA DUTERTE – House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed that a 4th impeachment complaint may be filed against the Vice President.

The Vice President is undeniably one of the embattled politicians in the year 2024. The public witnessed her souring relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) even issued her a subpoena for her remarks against the Chief Executive.

Duterte’s “threats” against Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez did not skip the eye of the NBI as well as the DOJ. The lower chamber has also held several hearings regarding her office’s use of the Confidential Funds.

Impeachment complaints have been filed against VP Sara Duterte but she is confident that she did not break any law. She also sees it in the positive way as a venue where she can address the accusations against her. Three (3) impeachment complaints have been filed against her but there is reportedly a looming fourth impeachment complaint.

Priest, religious members, and lawyers were behind the third impeachment complaint against the Vice President. Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the House Secretary General confirmed that a fourth impeachment complaint is looming against Duterte.

House Secretary Gen. Reginald Velasco said a member of the House majority allegedly relayed to him the information that a fourth impeachment complaint is looming against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The filing of a fresh complaint is expected on Monday.

“Wala pang sinabi kung ilan ‘yung mag-i-endorse noon. Basta sinabi lang to wait for the fourth complaint,” the House Secretary General said.

Based on the report, the House Secretary General said that if the fourth complaint is filed on Monday, she will have to make a decision whether it will be forwarded to the office of the House Speaker or delay it further.

Velasco further revealed that a set of 10 to 12 congressmen are planning to endorse one of the three impeachment complaints that were previously filed against Duterte. The lawmakers are coming both the majority and minority blocks but they have yet to specify which complaint they will endorse.
