Why did Cristine Reyes leave the MMFF 2024 Gabi ng Parangal in tears? The actress was one of the hosts of the event but later on, she was seen leaving the event, and a video of this circulated online.

According to netizens who made assumptions online, she was in a hurry, and she got embarrassed because of her reaction after seeing the result of one of the categories. There were other stories and speculations about it but none of those were true.
It turns out that the reason behind her abrupt exit from the event was because of a family emergency.
The speculations online reached Ara Mina and on her Instagram account, she shared posts to shed light on the matter. According to Cristine’s older sister, she was in distress as seen in the clip because their mother got hospitalized.
She also included a photo of Reyes taking care of their mother at the hospital. She was disappointed at the false stories that have surrounded the clip of her sister.
Ara furthered by sharing one of her favorite quotes which said, “Never judge someone without knowing the whole story. You may think you understand, but you don’t.”
Based on a report from PEP, Ara expressed, “Kaya siya umiiyak paalis ng awards night at di tinapos dahil sinugod nga mom namin sa hospital that night hindi dahil sa hindi siya nanalo or napahiya siya. I just saw this I felt bad sa mga ganitong news na di alam ang totoong nangyari.”
While it was saddening that a lot of speculations surfaced, what was more saddening about it was that many also believed without exerting any effort to verify their “facts”.
