MMFF Spokesperson Noel Ferrer on Results: "No leaks, definitely no cooking show"

Spokesman of MMFF 2024 Asserts Judges’ Decisions are “Final”

MMFF SPOKERSPERSON – Noel Ferrer issued a sattement on the results of the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival following the Gabi ng Parangal.

Many Filipinos really see to it that they get to watch at least one of the official entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival every year. The MMFF is one of the much-awaited events as it features movies coming from different genres and bringing unique stories to tell.

Ahead of the showing of the official entries for the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival, there were already three (3) MMFF entries that went trending online. They were the And the Breadwinner Is mainly starred by Vice Ganda, The Kingdom wherein Piolo Pascual had his first time to work with Vic Sotto, and Green Bones which is top-billed by Dennis Trillo and got many people excited.

Judy Ann Santos also returned to the big screen through the MMFF official entry Espantaho. Below, you can check the list of the official entries for this year’s film festival.

Recently, the film award giving body held the Gabi ng Parangal. Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo bagged the Best Actor award for Green Bones while actress Judy Ann Santos was the Best Actress for her portrayal of her role in Espantaho.

The MMFF 2024 winners have been all announced. However, undeniably, there are some questions from some individuals. Recently, the MMFF spokesperson issued a statement regarding the results of this year’s film festival.

Based on a post on ABS-CBN News, MMFF spokesperson Noel Ferrer stressed that the judges’ decisions are final. He also stressed the genuinity of the results of this year’s film festival.

“YOU MAY AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH THEIR CHOICES… but the integrity of each and every member of the Jury since we took charge in 2016, especially on this 50th Edition of the MMFF cannot be assailed.

They have exhaustively deliberated and decided on the nominees and the winners from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. yesterday… No leaks, definitely no cooking show… only the Jury Chair and the MMFF Executive Director knew the results, not even I or any member of the Execom. Rest assured, there was due process and the judgment was fair and sound AND FINAL!” the MMFF Spokesperson said.
