The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) revoked the professional license of John Amores.
The PBA career of John Amores may be over as the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) revoked his professional license.
NorthPort Batang Pier player and his brother John Red got involved in a conflict that involved a gun. This was after a bad call during a basketball game and according to the eyewitnesses of the shooting incident, the fight started between his brother and another player named Lee Cacalda, the victim.
Amores was hunted by police due to a shooting that happened under broad daylight on a public highway. Fortunately, despite the shots he made, no one got injured. This is not the first time Amores was involved in an altercation.
Shortly, Lumban Municipal Police Station confirmed Amores surrendered due to threats of his life. After being detained, the PBA player and his brother were able to bail out.
This action had some implications for his career. He was banned indefinitely by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) for the aforementioned incident and recently, the league revoked Amores’ professional license.
GAB stated that the player showed “conduct unbecoming of a professional basketball player” and he is no longer allowed to participate in any professional basketball games sanctioned by the Board. The decision was on December 4 signed by Chairman Atty. Francisco J. Rivera and commissioners Manuel Plaza and Angel Bautista.
This makes the embattled NorthPort player barred from playing professional basketball in PBA and other professional leagues in the country.
As stated, this is not the first time Amores got involved in a conflict. He had a history of violent tendencies. During the NCAA Season 98, he ran amok and punched the players of the opposing team. That time, it was a game between the Heavy Bombers and the College of St. Benilde.
