Iza Calzado did a project under the Kapuso network
Actress Iza Calzado had this answer when asked if she would return to GMA Network after her recent movie project under GMA Pictures.
Iza started her acting career in the Kapuso network. For 10 years, she did different projects under GMA. However, back in 2012, she decided to transfer to ABS-CBN. From that, her projects as a Kapamilya actress came one after the other.
In 2022, the actress temporarily took a break from making showbiz projects as she gave birth to her daughter Deia. This year, she returned to the big screen with the film Green Bones.
This movie features Kapuso actors Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid and is produced by GMA Pictures, GMA Public Affairs, and Brightburn Entertainment which is owned by the former and his wife Jennylyn Mercado.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Iza Calzado said that she remembered a lot of memories working again with the Kapuso stars. “It felt so familiar but also new. It brought me back to my twenties. Sila pa rin ‘yung nakikita ko. I looked at them and I thought to myself, ‘Wow! We’ve been through so much and we’re still here,” she said.
The actress said that she was thankful for this and it was fun working with her co-star in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry. She also wished that she had more scenes with the Kapuso stars.
With this, she was asked if she would be returning to GMA Network after this project. The actress did not give a definite answer to this. She said that her priority is being a mother to her daughter and she will go where work leads her.
“My daughter’s network, that is the Deia Network. I am a mother, first and foremost. And in this season of life, I do not know what life has in store for me. So, I will always say yes when the project feels right for me,” Iza Calzado said.
