Car Buyer Died, Wife Injured in Robbery by Suspected Agent in Dasmariñas, Cavite
A 46-year-old car buyer in Dasmariñas, Cavite lost his life while his wife suffered injuries from an agent’s robbery scheme.
The couple, known for buying and selling used cars, went to Barangay Langkaan 1 to meet with someone claiming to sell a secondhand van.
The suspect pushed the couple to meet late at night, saying the van had other interested buyers. At first, the couple waited at a resort, but the suspect called and asked them to pick him up at a nearby church.
He then led them to a secluded spot near a sugarcane field, supposedly to meet the van’s owner.
Things quickly turned violent when the suspect suddenly pulled out a gun and shot them. The husband was killed instantly after being hit in the body, neck, and head, while the wife was wounded in the shoulder and back.
Despite her injuries, she managed to survive and was rushed to the hospital. The wife recalled hearing the suspects rummaging through their belongings, shouting to grab the bags.
The robbers made off with six cell phones and two bags holding around P500,000 to P600,000 in cash money they had planned to use for the car deal.
Police later found two of the stolen phones in a river, but the cash was nowhere to be found. Investigators believe the motive was robbery. They’ve already identified one of the suspects and are actively hunting down the others involved.
“Pagdating namin doon nakita ko si ma’am may kumakausap na sa kanya doon. Agad na pinaalam sa amin na sila nga ay pinagbabaril. Noong napansin kong okay pa si mam stable pero in pain talaga siya. Ang binabanggit niya is balikat at likod. So kumuha na ako ng response sa ambulance at kapulisan kasi sinasabi niya ang kanyang mister nasa loob ng sasakyan,” tanod investigator Roland Medina said.
The victims’ families have chosen to remain silent as they grieve. Meanwhile, authorities continue their investigation, determined to catch the culprits and bring justice to the couple and their loved ones.
