Former Mayor Alice Guo Pleads “Not Guilty” to Comelec Material Misrepresentation

ALICE GUO – The camp of the dismissed Mayor confirmed they eye to post bail for her after pleading “not guilty” to material misrepresentation.

One of the biggest issues that hooked national attention this year is the issue regarding the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the Philippines. Several known personalities are linked to the illegal POGO operations in the country.

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo who is now in the hands of the Philippine authorities is one of those linked to the illegal POGO operations in the Philippines. The authorities also question her identity after her fingerprints matched the fingerprints of Guo Hua Ping, a Chinese national who entered PH in 2003.

Following the findings that triggered questions on the identity of the former mayor, the Commission on Elections or Comelec filed a material misrepresentation complaint against Alice Guo.

Recently, an arraignment over the material misrepresentation complaint Comelec has filed against dismissed mayor Alice Guo was held. Based on a report on GMA News, Alice Guo pleaded “not guilty”.

The dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor made her plea before the Capas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 66. According to Attorney Nicole Jamila, one of the legal counsels of Guo, said that the dismissed Mayor attended the arraignment through a video conference.

“Arraignment of the accused as she attended through video conference and pleaded not guilty,” Atty. Jamila said.

It was in August when Alice Guo was dismissed from being the mayor of Bamban, Tarlac. Previously, during the filing of candidacy period for the 2025 Midterm Elections, a lawyer of Guo announced that she is seeking reelection. However, it ended up with Guo confirming her decision that she will not run in the 2025 Elections.

Based on the report, the camp of Guo confirmed that they are preparing for the posting of bail by next week. Atty. Jamila stressed that the former Mayor is facing a “bailable offense” and they are processing the requirements now.
