This is the statement of Rufa Mae Quinto regarding her issue.
Comedienne-actress Rufa Mae Quinto faces charges and recently, she released a statement stressing her innocence.
Rufa Mae Quinto’s lawyer confirmed to ABS-CBN on Monday evening, December 2, that she is facing an arrest warrant because of her involvement with the company Dermacare. This is the same company that got Neri Miranda arrested previously.
Miranda is facing an estafa charge and 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Republic Act 8799 or the Securities Regulation Code. According to Quinto’s lawyer, she is facing 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code. This section prohibits securities from being sold without a license and registration.
For Quinto, the arrest warrant was not for large-scale or syndicated estafa.
Recently, following the reports about her arrest warrant surfaced, the actress-comedienne broke her silence. In her official statement, she asserted her innocence and clarified that she, too, is a victim of the situation.
“Let me state this unequivocally: I HAVE NO CONNECTION WHATSOEVER TO ANY FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY AND I CATEGORICALLY DENY THESE BASELESS ACCUSATIONS. IF ANYTHING, I AM ALSO A VICTIM AND I AM DETERMINED TO SEEK JUSTICE.”
She is dismayed over the allegations as she has been committed entirely to integrity and professionalism ever since she started her career. As a public figure, she reiterated that she does her work with transparency and respect, and with the recent issue that dragged her name in the mud, she chooses to remain steadfast and confident as she is confident that truth will soon prevail.
She acknowledged the support from fans and loved ones and vowed to fully cooperate with the authorities. She will face this issue in the “proper legal forum” as she will fight for her name and reputation.
