James Reid released a new album
Actor-singer James Reid said that his new album titled “jgh” which means Just Got Home is a reflection of himself.
James has come a long way since he started his career in the entertainment industry through the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother. From that, he was given a chance to do different acting projects.
Among his biggest breaks in showbiz was the movie Ang Diary ng Panget which brought life to his loveteam partnership with his former reel and real-life partner Nadine Lustre.
Eventually, James Reid ventured into music and recorded songs. Then, he established his own music label Careless Music which eventually evolved into a talent management company.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Abante, James talked about his new album and the songs he featured in it. “My home is a reflection of myself,” the actor-singer shared.
James shared that the songs in his new album are a collection of his journey decorated with his memories. “It’s been another crazy year, and now that I’m home, I have a lot of stories to tell,” he said.
Through this music project, James is showcasing his most vulnerable, rediscovering the earnest and grounded parts of his identity. This part of his life, he said, might have been lost and through this, he was able to forgive himself, including the flaws that came with it.
In the album, he featured the song ‘Hurt Me Too’, ‘Your Boy’, ‘Pauwi Na’, ‘Di Bale’, ‘Sandal’ and ‘Mirasol’. James said that all the songs were written from the heart. He admitted that he had a hard time writing some of the songs.
“Some of them were painful to write, others were inspired by realizations I had along the way, and some were inspired by love,” he shared.
James Reid added that it was an emotional journey for him. He also said that these songs were like a page from his diary or a chapter of his life. These truths were not easy for him to express before.
