This is a piece of advice from Judy Ann Santos to the new actors.
“Queen of Philippine Soap Opera” Judy Ann Santos has this piece of advice for the young stars of this generation.
When it comes to drama acting, one of the artists people look highly to is Judy Ann Santos, “Queen of Philippine Soap Opera”. She made drama series and contributed a lot to the industry as the Queen of Drama. She ruled the PH teleserye realm through the years.

Some of her iconic teleseryes started with the classic series Mara Clara, which ran from 1992 to 1997. This series propelled her to stardom because of her undeniable talent and impressive portrayal as Mara. This was followed by another highly successful soap opera, Esperanza (1997-1999), and two years later, she did Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka (2001-2003).
All of these and more have cemented her reputation as the “Queen of Philippine Soap Opera” and with everything she experienced in the industry, she learned a lot in life and in being professional.
Recently, in an interview, she shared a piece of advice for the new and young stars. She said, “Sa buong produksyon, artista dapat ang hindi nagrereklamo kasi artista ang may isa sa pinakamalalaking suweldo. May aircon tent ka, may glam team ka, may maayos kang pagkain, may call time ka, may cut-off time ka.”

According to her, of all the people in the production, the artists are those who have privileges that people behind the camera don’t get. She stressed compassion and professionalism in the industry.
She saw how the staff and crew worked hard rain or shine and even worked overtime just to finish their job. In a project, everyone is just doing their job to earn and to provide and among the most important things to do is to be sensitive of others and be kind.
“Ako, pet peeve ko talaga kapag minumura ‘yung talents. Parang kinukurot ‘yung puso ko. Hindi dapat ganun. Lahat naman napapakiusapan nang maayos,” she said. Being an actor doesn’t only require talent, it also requires to be professional and kind.
Meanwhile, Santos is returning to the big screen through “Espantaho” with Lorna Tolentino which is competing in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024.
