In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Angelica Panganiban shared her thoughts on “struggles” that the entertainment industry has been experiencing these recent years.

When the pandemic brought devastating effects to the whole world, the entertainment industry in the Philippines was just among the many industries that were greatly affected. Even before the pandemic happened, fewer people went to cinemas anymore and it is because of streaming platforms.

With this, Angelica said that it is really important to save and prepare for the future financially because a showbiz career can be temporary. She said that tomorrow can bring uncertainty and there could be a time when people do not like a certain personality anymore.

The actress also said that it is really important to work hard and be passionate about the craft. It is also a must to hone one’s talent like attending workshops and things for self-improvement.

“Siguro nga kahit kami na matagal na sa industriya eh nagwoworkshop pa rin ‘til now. You want to evolve, gusto mong sabayan ‘yung changes sa industry…,” she said.

Angelica also said that it is already difficult to encourage people to go out, go to cinemas, and watch films. She stressed that in order to make these people go out and watch movies in cinemas, the project must be worth it.

Amid the changing and fast-paced entertainment industry, Angelica Panganiban said that evolving should happen. “So yeah, you have to improve yourself parati and mag-ipon!” the actress said.
