Band vocalist Chito Miranda releases his statement regarding the arrest of Neri due to estafa and violation of the Securities Regulation Code.
Actress, businesswoman, and wife of Parokya ni Edgar lead singer Chito Miranda, Neri Miranda was arrested. This incident happened at a basement convention center inside a mall in Pasay City on November 23.
Ogie Diaz was first to report about Neri’s arrest and recently, several reports online confirmed this. She is facing an estafa case in relation to Presidential Decree 1689 and 14 counts of violation of Section 28 of the Republic Act 8799 or the Securities Regulation Code.
A total bail could reach up to Php 1,764,000.00 due to the violation but estafa has no bail recommended.
Recently, in a social media post, her husband Chito Miranda finally broke his silence about it. He defended his wife from the critics and extreme allegations about her and shared that she was accordingly used and abused.
Such an incident did not happen for the first time. This happened before and they were able to get through it as they complied in the legal way. As for the latest, things happened suddenly.
They did not receive any documents prior. Neri was just arrested without any warning. She was not able to do anything to defend herself.
“Tapos last week, bigla na lang syang inaresto for the same case kahit hindi pa sya binigyan ng notice na may bagong criminal complaint pala laban sa kanya, and di nya na-defend yung sarili nya,” he wrote.
He also expressed that his wife is never the type of person who will fool and dupe other people for her own benefit and interest.
“Kadalasan nga, naaabuso na sya pero hinahayaan nya nalang, basta wala syang ginawang masama. Pinapa sa Diyos nya na lang. Tulad ngayon, endorser lang sya tapos ginamit yung face nya to get investors. Kinasuhan sya ng mga nabiktima.”
