SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President asserted that politicians must fulfill their campaign promises to the Filipino people.

It is no secret to the Filipinos that the relationship between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte has seemingly turned sour. There were several instances when the Vice President threw tirades against Marcos Jr.

Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly does not know how to be a president. She even rated the Chief Executive with one (1) out of 10 in terns of his performance.

According to the Vice President, she regretted campaigning for Marcos Jr. as she was in a “mistaken belief” of unity and continuity. She claimed that she will “never again” team up with the Marcoses in the future elections.

Currently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is involved in several issues. She is being questioned regarding the utilization of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Office of the Vice President (OVP) funds but the Vice President skips House hearings over the matter.

In the recent hearing, some OVP officials made an appearance. Attorney Zuleika Lopez, the chief-of-staff of the OVP, was cited for contempt for alleged “interference” and was detained in the House.

Amid the issues, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she is allegedly being used by the government as a “punching bag” to cover up the irregularities and corruption in the government. According to her, she is being targeted as she does not follow and she cannot be bought with money.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Vice President called on the people to demand the services they deserve from the government. She also stressed that politicians must fulfill their promises to the people during the election campaign period.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte mentioned the P20 per kilo rice promise. To recall, the said campaign promise was reportedly made by Pres. Bongbong Marcos when they were campaigning for the 2022 Elections. Duterte and Marcos were running mates.

“Simulan na natin sa mga campaign promises dapat po pag ang pulitiko ay nag-promise na magbibigay ng 20 pesos per kilo na bigas, dapat ay tinutupad yun dahil binoto ka ng mga tao base sa mga sinabi mo base sa mga kampanya mo,” the Vice President said.

Based on the report, Duterte stressed that a politician must realize and give even more of what was promised during the election campaign period. She called on the public to demand from the government the services due to the people. Amid the questions and doubts about her mental health, Duterte stressed that she is ready to undergo psychological and drug tests.
