VP Sara Duterte Sends Strong Message Amid Political Drama
Vice President Sara Duterte shared her final instructions in case something unfortunate happened to her.
Vice President Sara Duterte made headlines after a fiery outburst about her safety and ongoing tensions in the government. She issued a bold warning to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez, saying that if something bad happens to her, she has people ready to act against them.
“‘Wag kang mag-alala sa security ko kasi may kinausap na ako na tao. Sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘pag pinatay ako, patayin mo si BBM, si Liza Araneta, at si Martin Romualdez. No joke. No joke,” she said.
Sara made her statement on November 22, 2024, during a video conference where she expressed frustration over what she sees as harassment against her and her staff.
Recently, Duterte’s chief of staff, Atty. Zuleika Lopez, was detained by the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability over questionable confidential funds linked to the Office of the Vice President (OVP).
Duterte accused the President and other officials of being behind efforts to ruin her political career. She called it a coordinated attack to destroy her leadership. Frustrated but determined, Sara has decided to stay at the House of Representatives to keep a closer eye on the situation.
Currently, she’s staying in the office of her brother, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte. Earlier, she visited Lopez at the detention facility and even requested to stay with her but was denied by the committee.
The high-ranking government official expressed her belief that Speaker Romualdez wanted her gone but assured herself it wouldn’t happen inside the House complex. She’s planning to stay at the House until after New Year’s to deal with the issue directly.
