Several House lawmakers and members were left disappointed by the repetitive non-appearance of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the House hearings. The lower chamber decided to give the OVP a P733 million budget.

According to the House, the P1.3 billion budget cut from the P2-billion budget proposal of the office of Vice Pres. Duterte is eyed to be re-allocated to the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Recently, the Vice President appeared at a House Quad Committee hearing but it was about the war on drugs. For the first time, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte appeared at the House Quad Comm hearing over his administration’s drug war.

At the hearing, the younger Duterte was allegedly given an invitation to the November 20 hearing of the House on the budget use of her office. The inquiry is led by the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.

However, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has decided to skip the House hearing on her office’s budget use anew. She sent a letter to the lower chamber addressed to committee chairperson Hon. Joel R. Chua. Here’s the letter of Duterte based on a post of X user Giselle Ombay:

Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that she refuses to attend the House hearing because she did once and she was not asked.
