Michelle Dee Reacts To Alleged New Rule In Miss Universe

Michelle Dee was asked about the supposed new rule in Miss Universe

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee has mixed emotions about the supposed new rule that the Miss Universe Organization will implement next year.

A social media post from MMD x PorDee Universe Facebook Page on November 11 caught the attention of the online community, especially the Pinoy pageant fans.

The page stated that for the Miss Universe 2025 competition, candidates must be born in the country they are representing. Another rule was that countries should name their representative by August 2025. The MUO has not released an official statement yet regarding this supposed new rule.

At a recent event, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Michelle Dee was asked to react to this “new rule.” The Pinay beauty queen who was included in the Miss Universe 2023 Top 10 expressed mixed emotions to this matter.

It’s a yes and no for her because she said that it depends on certain limitations. “But of course, if there’s a Filipina that’s born in a different country, who are we to limit them from representing the country they love?” Michelle said.

The Kapuso star also said that like in her situation, she was born in the Philippines but was raised in the US but she is still attached to her Filipino heritage. She also pointed out that there are pros and cons to this supposed new rule.

However, she stressed that it could be unfair for other girls. Michelle said that there are those who have Filipino blood but were born in other countries.

So I think there are some stipulations and clarifications that we still have to find out, but nonetheless, they have a good team behind them and I hope that it is a successful one,” she said.

Michelle Dee stressed the it is a new rule and has not been implemented and assumptions cannot be made for now. She also said that whatever it may be, as long as Miss Universe will stay true to its core then, it would be okay.
